I was impressed with the results of this activity. I gave the Year 8 students a quick slideshow of examples of photography techniques and then sent them out with a list of criteria to photograph. This included types of shots e.g. close-up, downward, upward, wide angle as well as content criteria, eg. lines, shadows. The kids took a photo of the list of criteria on their devices and then worked in pairs to build their collection of photographs. Many of them used apps they had on their devices to play with the visual element. They did this without prompting.
